Questions, answered honestly.

Setup, privacy, what your child can and can't do, and billing — including the answers most apps bury.

Setup & pairing

Android phones and tablets, installed from Google Play — Raxak is never sideloaded. For now, both the parent's and the child's devices must be Android. The iOS app is under review and coming soon.
No. Only the parent signs in (phone number or Google). The child's device connects with a 4-character pairing code — no account, email or password on their phone.
Yes. A second parent installs Raxak, taps "Join existing family", signs in with Google and enters a pairing code. Both parents then see and manage the same children with equal control.
There's no fixed cap — add each child once, and pair as many of their devices as needed (phone + tablet, for example). Usage merges across a child's devices, and one subscription covers the whole family.
Yes — shared mode keeps a parent profile and child profile on one device. Hand it over with "Give Device to Child" (timed or open-ended); getting parent mode back always requires your PIN. See the shared phone guide.

Privacy & safety

On a child's device: which apps are used and for how long, websites visited, and device status (online/offline, protection on/off). Parents can never read messages or chats, see photos, or view the screen — and Raxak cannot take screenshots, record audio or video, or track location; it never even requests those permissions. (The optional harmful-content feature scans text on the device itself for danger signals and sends you an alert only — never the content.) Details in the Permissions Guide.
Yes — always. There's a visible status notification, the child has their own dashboard with their own data, and block screens say exactly what's restricted and why. Raxak is parental control, not spyware; it resists tampering but never hides.
Accessibility is Android's sanctioned way for a parental-control app to know which app is open (so blocks apply instantly), draw the block screen, and read the browser's address bar for web filtering. Raxak's use is disclosed in its Play listing and privacy policy. It is not a keylogger — what your child types is never stored or sent anywhere; the optional harmful-content feature only scans text on the device for danger signals and alerts you without the content.
Yes — turn on Teen Privacy Mode (for children 10+). You'll see daily categorized summaries of browsing instead of every URL, keeping oversight without reading over their shoulder.
Data syncs through Google's Firebase cloud, visible only to the parents in your family. Raxak shows no ads, has removed the advertising ID entirely, and does not sell family data. See the Privacy Policy.

Using Raxak

Honest answer: no consumer app is unbeatable, but Raxak closes the usual doors. Uninstalling needs your PIN (with tamper protection on); switching protection off alerts you instantly and shows how long it was off; force-stopping self-recovers; limits sum across all their devices; and settings are PIN-gated. Most workaround attempts show up as alerts on your phone — which is usually the start of a useful conversation.
No — by design. There's no "request more time" button to spam you with. Limits are changed by you, on your phone, when you decide. Raxak is a firm-boundary tool: the block screen offers a word game and pending to-dos instead of a negotiation.
Yes. Rules live on the child's device, so blocking, limits and bedtime work fully offline. Only reporting back to your dashboard needs a connection.
A 0–100 weekly score from four parts: goal adherence (30%), usage quality (25%), sleep-safe usage (25%), and self-control (20%) — one number that makes trends discussable without arguing over minutes. Both you and your child see it.
A free "I need you now" button: pauses apps on your children's devices for 1, 5 or 10 minutes (calls and SMS keep working). Your child taps "I'm Here!" and you see it immediately. Capped at 10 minutes, ends on its own — a doorbell, not a punishment.
If you opt in — yes, that's the point. You get your own goal, bedtime, Focus Time and (with premium) doomscroll nudges, enforced gently — a dismissible "Pause & Think", never a hard lock. Children get firm boundaries; you get honest friction. Fair rules are the ones that stick.

Trial & billing

It starts automatically when you set up a new family — no card, nothing to cancel. For 3 days everything is unlocked. When it ends, nothing is charged: viewing (reports, trends, to-dos, alerts) stays free forever; enforcement (blocking, limits, bedtime, web filtering) needs a subscription.
Free: everything that shows you what's happening. Premium: everything that enforces a rule on the child's device. Full breakdown on the features page.
No. One subscription covers the entire family — every parent, every child, every device. Children automatically inherit premium from the family.
See current pricing. Prices are billed by Google Play in your local currency, and you always see the exact amount in the Play purchase sheet before confirming.
Subscriptions are managed entirely by Google Play: Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Raxak → Cancel. You keep premium until the period ends. Refunds follow Google Play's standard policy.
Yes — Invite & Earn in Settings: you get 2 weeks of premium free for every friend who joins, and your friend gets 1 week free.

Account

Email contact@raxak.ai with a deletion request from your registered account (phone number or Google email) and we'll remove your account and all associated data, then confirm once it's done. This matches the process in our Privacy Policy.
Parent phone: install Raxak and sign in with the same phone number or Google account — your family is right there. Child phone: install Raxak, pair it to the child with a fresh code, and remove the old device from the Family screen.
The child's phone shows "Device Removed", protection stops, its local Raxak data is wiped, and it returns to the pairing screen. Historical reports stay visible on your dashboard.
